A suspect has been arrested for the murder of a music supervisor “American Idol” and her husband composer, police sources confirmed to ABC News.

The victims, Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca, both 70 years old, were shot at their home in Los Angeles during a social assistance check on Monday, authorities said.

The suspect, Raymond Boodarian, 22, was arrested on Tuesday, police sources said. He was allegedly stealing the residence and, when the victims came home, they shot them and killed them during a fight, police sources said.

It is believed that the murders occurred on July 10, when the Los Angeles Police Department received two service calls for a possible robbery in the direction in Encino, police sources said.

Surveillance images show the suspect who entered the house, police sources said. The suspect had managed to find a path in the house as long as he was not busy and did not force the entrance, the sources said. The victims arrived home about 30 minutes later, the sources said.

The officers who responded to service calls that day could not go to the house because it is very fortified, with 8 -foot walls with peaks, police sources said. The police flew a helicopter and did not see signs of a robbery, the sources said.

After the call for a social assistance check on Monday, the officers who responded destroyed a rear window to enter and found the dead victims in different rooms inside their home, police sources said. Both had gunshot wounds, police said.

The police do not believe that the victims were attacked, but that the house was randomly stolen, the sources said. It is believed that the incident is isolated and Boodarian is not suspicious in any other robbery, the sources said.

Kaye had been with the television program “American Idol” since 2009, according to a spokesman for the ABC Singing Competition series.

“We are devastated when listening to Robin and his beloved husband, Tom’s, passing,” said the spokesman in a statement. “Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was really loved and respected by all those who came into contact with her. Robin will remain in our hearts forever and share our deepest sympathy with his family and friends during this difficult time.”
