President Donald Trump will hold a press conference on Monday that said “essentially, will stop the violent crime in Washington, DC”

The President promoted the press conference in multiple publications on his social media platform and on Sunday he published that “it would also be about cleaning and general physical renewal and the condition of our capital once beautiful and well maintained.”

In a separate publication, Trump said homeless should leave DC, accompanied by photos of homeless people camps along their route from the White House to their Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia.

“Homeless people have to move, immediately. We will give them places to stay, but far from the capital,” Trump wrote. “The criminals, you don’t have to move. We’re going to get in jail where you belong.”

The press conference occurs after Trump last week ordered an increase in the application of the law as part of an executive order that signed in March to “make the Columbia district safe and beautiful.”

Contrary to the president’s statement, the preliminary comparisons of the crime in the year until the date of the Washington Metropolitan Police Department show that the general crime in DC has decreased by 7% since last year, with a violent crime below 26% and the reduced property crimes by 5%.

A White House official said that the effort of the application of the law is a “general approach to the Government to improve general public security” and said that the police will focus on the police “on the tourist areas of high traffic and other known critical points.”

The official added that federal officers “will be identified in marked and very visible units.”

Trump said Sunday that he has given the mayor of DC Muriel Bowser the opportunity to reduce crime rates, but she has not been able to do it.

“The mayor of DC, Muriel Bowser, is a good person who has tried, but has been given many opportunities, and the numbers of crimes get worse, and the city only becomes dirtier and less attractive. The American public will not bear it anymore,” he said.

Bowser said Sunday that Washington has spent the last two years lowering violent crime, “in fact,” leading it to a minimum of 30 years. “

“It is true that we had a terrible increase in crime in 2023, but this is not 2023, this is 2025 and we have done it working with the community, working with the police, working with our prosecutors and, in fact, working with the federal government,” Bowser told MSNBC.

On Saturday, Trump said the capital of the nation has become “one of the most dangerous cities anywhere in the world.”

Last week he threatened to deploy the National Guard in DC and, as he has done several times since he was inaugurated in January, he suggested that there should be a federal acquisition.

That call occurred after Edward Coristine, a former employee of the Government Efficiency Department, was beaten after he tried to break a car theft in DC

“So, whether you call it federalize or what. And that also includes the graffiti you see, the documents all over the place, the roads that are in poor condition, the medians that are falling, the median between the roads, falls,” Trump said in the Oval office on Wednesday.

“We are going to beautify the city. We are going to make it beautiful. And what a shame. Crime rate, the rate of muggings, murders and everything else. We are not going to leave it. And that includes bringing the National Guard, perhaps very fast.”

The White House Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, said in a statement last week: “Washington, DC is an incredible city, but has been plagued with violent crimes for too long. President Trump has directed a greater presence of the Federal Police to protect innocent citizens. There will not be a safe port for violent criminals in DC Trump committed to make our part of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital of the capital Capital of the capital of its residents, and DC visitors, and visitors, and visitors, and visit the violations.

The application effort of the seven -day law is being led by the United States Park Police, but includes personnel of the Transit Metro Police Department, the Amtrak Police Department, the United States Capitol Police, the Washington Metro Police Department, National Security Investigations, Federal Protection Service, Drug Control and Explanation Operations, Mald Attention, Bureau of Investigation Research, Alcohol Office, Topacco Office Appearances and explosives of the United States. Columbia Office District, Department of the Interior, Pre-Contral Services Agency, Judicial Services and Criminal Supervision Agency (CSOSA), said the White House official.
