London, Paris and Belgrade, Serbia – nine people are dead and 12 are injured after a shooting on Tuesday in a high school in Graz, Austria, said the mayor of the city, and added that the alleged shooter is also dead.
Austrian state police confirmed the death toll, after before saying In social networks that there had been several deaths at school, Borg Dreierschützengasse.
Among the dead were three men and six women, Austrian Interior Minister Gerhard Karner said Tuesday during a press conference on Tuesday.
At least 12 people were injured, some severely, the authorities said.

The shooter died from suicide in a bathroom at school during the incident, said a stroy police spokesman.
“Today is a day of sadness and processes the dramatic incident,” said Styria Governor Mario Kunasek, at the press conference.
The suspect, a 21 -year -old Austrian citizen and former school student who never graduated, acted alone, authorities said. The shooter used weapons that were found on the scene and are now being investigated, said a Styria police spokesman.
“The shooting in the school in Graz is a national tragedy that has deeply surprised our country,” said Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker in A statement Posted in social networks.
He added: “The young people suddenly started from the lives they had ahead of them. There are no words for the pain and pain that all of us, all of Austria, we are feeling right now.”

The officers responded after shots were heard at school, said the state police in a message posted on social networks, and then added: “The school was evacuated and all the people were taken to a safe meeting point.” The 300 officers who responded to the scene were able to secure the scene in 17 minutes, said a Styria police spokesman.

Until Tuesday afternoon, 40 people remain in the incident scene and support students and parents, Kunasek said.
Emergency vehicles, including Cobra tactical vehicles, had been deployed on the site, police said. The video filmed near the scene showed a street full of ambulances and other emergency vehicles.
Stocker declared a national mourning period of three days, with a moment of silence at the national level for the victims at 10 am local time on Wednesday, he said.
The city of Graz is located in southern Austria, in the province of Stiria. It is the second largest Austrian city per population, with approximately 300,000 residents.
